Under Tile Heating

Under naturally cold surfaces like Tile, stone, marble and slate, underfloor heating is essential, it combines the beauty of natural flooring with comfort and warmth.

Underfloor heating can be used either as primary heating source or simply as floor heat to keep the chill off, our underfloor heating is inexpensive, easy to install and comes with a 10 year manufacturers warranty.

We can currently supply 3 types of undertile heating systems:

1 . The Budget Loose Cable Range

Although now considered to be an old fashioned way of installing underfloor heating, our budget loose cable range can be useful for small or odd shaped areas.

The Budget loose cable range is similar in appearance to other systems on the market but that is where the similarity ends – we know that it is superior in terms of quality and price.

• Installation kit included with each cable (primer, tape and roller)
• Un ultra-thin connection cable that meets requirements and specifications for bathrooms and kitchens
• Extra layer of insulation around the heating cable for extra safety

The loose cable range is ideal for DIY enthusiasts – with more time to spend on installations. The cables are available in four sizes and if the cable spacing is accurately calculated (see table) can achieve a uniform wattage output beneath the tiles. This is a very effective budget cable system with class 2 connection and heating cables for use in any room.

2. The UFHD Standard Mat- Setting the standards in underfloor heating

The UFHD Standard mat makes a warm floor underfoot an affordable luxury, making any floor surface in any room a joy to walk on.

It is widely accepted that heating mats are superior to loose cable systems, as they are much quicker to install and have regulated cable widths, so you always get a good even heat spread with no hot or cold spots.

The UFHD Standard mat has a fabric backing allowing adhesives to be fully absorbed, thereby allowing a perfect bond between the tiles and subfloor. Other underfloor heating mats are comprised of cables crudely stuck onto plastic/fibreglass with sticky tape, tests have shown that this can create a barrier between the subfloor and the floor finish and so the tiles stick to the underfloor heating system rather than the subfloor.

3. The Sole Source Heating Mat- UFHS 200 Watts/m2

UFHS has been designed for sole source of heating in conservatories and other areas. At 200 Watts/m2 the UFHS mat system is the most powerful on the market. The system is ultra thin, adding only 5mm to the floor depth once installed. It is available in two different widths (500mm and 1000mm) so it can be used in any size or shaped area. The system can be installed either directly beneath the tiles or in the screed for off peak electricity use.

If using underfloor heating for sole source heating, it is very important to have insulation either under the screed or directly below the heating.
